MIMSA x @thebiosa x @csuforu x @rdf_utsc is holding an event to help undergraduate students learn more about the biotechnology related careers available to them.🔬🦠Come meet fellow students, biotechnology professors and professional panelists where you will have the opportunity to connect with them and learn about the unique pathways they took to reach their career in science🧬🧫🧪Everyone is welcome!

🔬 Are in need of support for your FLR or want to work on your excel skills? We can help!

Our special guest, Sadra Setarehdar (@s.setarehdan) is a current computer science student who will further help you work on your excel skills. Aside from the FLR this is a great opportunity to learn excel which may come handy in the future!

Past Events

We generally keep the same major events every year so that you know what to expect from us. It also gives everyone a chance to participate a different year if you missed an event! Keep an eye out on social media for upcoming event announcements.

Undergraduate Research Seminar

Held during the Fall semester, this event introduces attendees to undergraduate research by giving tips on how to land positions. We give practical tips, including resume, cover letter and interview tips.

Journal Club

Held multiple times across Fall and Winter semesters, we organize journal club events where attendees learn about a journal article and participate in a critical discussion of the literature, most often in the presence of the faculty member who authored the paper.

Graduate School Mentorship Program (GSMP)

The GSMP program is a year-long program that pairs undergraduates with graduate student mentors, allowing them to explore graduate school options, prepare their applications, and potentially land research positions.

Beyond Med School

What pathways are available to life sciences students outside of medical or dental school? In this event, we invite professors, researchers, and industry professionals as speakers to showcase their own career paths to undergraduate attendees.

Undergraduate Research Showcase

Held during the Winter semester, the URS aims to provide an opportunity for undergraduates to present their research work. This is perfect for students who want to present their work if they had taken research course, worked on a project as a volunteer or an assistant, or published their own manuscript!
